About Chalkline
Chalkline is a five-piece acoustic rock band based in the Tri-Cities, WA. The band features a unique
blend of vocal harmonies layered with 6- and 12-string acoustic guitars, keys, mandolin, bass, and
percussion. Their music consists of an eclectic mix of soulful ballads, interesting melodies, and
up-tempo, hard-driving songs from the 60’s to today from notable bands like U2, John Mellencamp,
The Eagles, 3 Doors Down, R.E.M., America, Tom Petty, Coldplay, The Doobie Brothers, Matchbox 20,
and more. Chalkline grew out of jam sessions around the campfire and backyard barbeques at the turn
of the century that eventually led to invitations to play at private parties. They officially became
a “band” in 2007 playing at regional wineries, coffee shops, Dust Devils pre-game, county fair, and
private events. The band consists of Ron Thomas on lead vocals and guitar, Tom Weber on lead guitar
and vocals, Brian Thrall on bass, keyboard, mandolin, and backup vocals, Rick Corley on guitar, bass,
and backup vocals, and Ben Chambers on drums and congas. The band especially enjoys playing at venues
where good friends (and families) can get together to enjoy music that is widely recognized, but
rarely performed live in the Tri-Cities.
